Putin vs. the Pope

In the article Putin and the Pope, written by Thomas L. Friedman, the author argues that th

I strongly agree with Friedman, as these two stand as great foils of each other. Pope Francis has opened the door for divorcees and homosexuals to enter the church, an action so liberal it has shaken the foundation of its moral standards and upset many of its members. On the other hand, Putin has created global catastrophes, such as downing the Malaysian airliner in its private combat with Ukraine. Friedm8723683376_7b5d3812f8_oan portrays Putin as a “first class jerk and thug” in comparison to the Pope’s seemingly endless “capacity for empathy”. I agree! How unfortunate when the conventionally judgmental establishment begins to change for the better, while just few counties over Putin drives his country with his regime of selfishness and greed. I am in agreement with Friedman, I am team Pope Francis.
